I like painted wood craft projects that leave part of the wood grain showing in the background. A turned vase that has some decor painted and some beautiful grain showing is wonderful to see. With a good coat of finish it will last for years. Wooden serving plates in round or square shapes with beautiful graining and a lovely border around the edges are great to serve cookies or crackers to guests. Children’s toys sawed or carved out of wood and having little touches of paint here and there are so nice. Letters or little animal motifs are nice on wooden toys.
