Having recently one What Cars? Car of the Year 2009 award, the brand new Volkswagen Golf Mark VI seems to be riding along on the crest of a wave with little or no sign of slowing down. I test drove one recently and feel that I have to concur with the sentiments of the Waht Car? judges. Put simply, the new VW Golf is absolutely epic!

Cosnidering that what we are dealing with here is a relatively chunky hatchback, the Golf feels awesomely sprightly and easily manouevrable. The engines are sharp and powerful and the build quality is superior to others in the price range.
