Google has a number of quality guidelines that they suggest quite strongly that owners of web sites adhere to or Google may decide not to index or penalize the site in the rankings. They also have a number of design guidelines that if not adhered to do not attract a penalty. Many webmasters get confused between the two and think you must comply with the design guidelines as well. One of these that cause confusion is Google’s 100 links per page suggestion. They suggest that there be no more than 100 links on a page as the page is not likely to be much use to visitor if they have more than this.
