Analysis On “Obama Pick Kreuger to Join Growth Debate”
Nothing about technology guides makes central planning better or even inevitable.
i would actually think that more technology makes it possible for the individual to do even more than they could in the past. How hard is it to record a song? How hard is it to publish a book? How hard is it to read a newspaper published in Peking in real time?
With instant communications do we really need representatives in Washington? After all at the beginning it took a couple of weeks for representatives to get to Washington. We could vote on every bill in real-time.
Now that’s not saying that central planning is not practiced, I am just saying the technology developments make central planning neither necessary nor beneficial.
