I had hit a low point in my life before a friend of mine introduced me to the Mormon missionaries. I had just lost three loved ones in quick succession, and I was nearly despondent with grief. Then I learned about the mormon doctrine of eternal families. No other religion I had ever heard of taught such doctrine. The mormon doctrine taught that, if the necessary ordinances were performed and the necessary covenants made and kept, that families would be sealed together by an unbreakable, eternal bond. This brought my such joy and peace, because it felt right. I had been on the brink of giving up, and mormon doctrine saved my life.
